With regard to The Lord of the Rings, there are a number of "special occasion" (or major events) that occur throughout the Return of the King, The Two Towers, and The Fellowship of the Ring that Tolkien himself was particular enough to write out in a timeline.

At the beginning of each month, a prompt focusing on a major or minor event within the storyline of The Lord of the Rings will be posted. However, unlike the prompts posted on Monday with the time limit of five weeks (35 Days), "Special Occasion Prompts" will have an allotted time of two weeks (14 Days) before the entry timeline expires. Another will not be posted until the beginning of the last week of the end of the month. Not all prompts will follow the timeline to the letter and may be posted in a non-linear fashion.
